Neisha Cass Counselling + Equine Assisted Therapy aims to provide a connection from inner vulnerability to someone and somewhere safe and supportive.

I believe that we each have unique windows of tolerance, narrow or wide, depending on our experiences and it is our aim through therapy to support people to widen their window, and grow their capacity to thrive.

My approach as a therapist combines Counselling, Equine Assisted Therapy, Somatic Attachment Focused Expressive Therapy, Art therapy, Sand and Symbol Therapy, Trauma Informed Guided Drawing, Mindfulness and Neuroscience. I work with both somatic body and brain processes using evidence based practices and interventions to provide trauma informed counselling and psychotherapy.

Counselling Sessions are online.

  • Counselling sessions look a little different sometimes. Our online counselling space is where support meets comfort in the familiar embrace of your home. Through virtual sessions on platforms like Zoom, we are ready to connect with you from anywhere in the world. Embracing expressive therapies when suitable, we create safe, supportive environments to explore your well-being. Contrary to common concerns, our online approach fosters genuine connections, helping you work towards self-acceptance and an improved quality of life. Join us on this digital journey, breaking down barriers to mental health and finding solace in the simplicity of a click.

Equine Assisted Therapy Sessions are held at:

  • Equine Healing Australia in the North Brisbane suburb of Cashmere. Sessions involve being surrounded by nature, being supported by the incredible herd of horses and Bob the goat whilst drawing on various therapeutic modalities to support the healing process. Sessions do not include hands on interaction with horses or teaching of horsemanship or horseriding.

  • The Therapy Pod in the Beautiful Tallebudgera Valley. Sessions involve being surrounded by nature, supported by the incredible herd of horses and may include Sand and Symbol work in “The Therapy Pod” and Expressive and Art Therapies.

In session I seek to:

  • Provide a welcoming and nourishing safe haven for people to work towards wellness

  • Work with the whole person rather than focus on diagnosis

  • Be human and authentic as a therapist in the counselling process, and

  • Create meaningful and purposeful therapeutic relationships
